Walnut City, in Northwest Oregon, crafted this estate-farmed, off-dry Riesling from McIvor Vineyard, a small gem of a site in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. The 30-year-old, own-rooted vines deliver vibrant fruit aromas of citrus zest and dried apricot. Extended skin contact prior to fermentation builds the palate weight and honied complexion, yielding high levels of acidity, fruit density, and aromatics in harmony.

McIvor Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA - With scattered sedimentary soil formed 8,000 feet below the Ocean, the shifting of tectonic plates brought the soil to the surface during the formation of the Cascade Mountains. There is almost no water retention in this soil which causes the roots to exert their energy into digging deep into the soil in order to find retained water and minerals. These vineyards are not irrigated and water stressing vineyards or dry farming relies solely on the rainfall for that year. Dry farming benefits tend to concentrate the anthocyanins or the color components.
